Alison Prato is a writer and editor specializing in entertainment and celebrity journalism. Born and raised in Chicago, Prato graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was awarded the Hugh M. Hefner magazine scholarship. In 1995, she landed a coveted American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) internship with Ladies’ Home Journal. Upon graduation, she continued her journalism career with an internship at Playboy magazine and rose to Senior Associate Editor, working closely with Hef. She has been the Entertainment Director of Maxim Magazine, the Executive Editor of Giant Magazine, Editor at Large of Page Six Magazine and Deputy Editor of Watch Magazine. In 2008, she left her full-time office job to become a freelance writer.
